I'd like to share a thank you note we received from the Vietnam Veterans of America.  "We would like to thank you and the Land of Lincoln Quilts of Valor for the wonderful gifts we received.  I know the members that were present appreciated the effort for us and the work you do for Veterans as a whole."

Have a lot of requests for quilts coming in.   Have quite a few tops needing quilting!  So, fill those bobbins and we keep making the quilts one at a time!

Sew In results!

Marilyn brought along a couple nice patterns and got a couple ladies started on those.   Peaking in on their progress---cannot wait to see the finished ones.  Another nice show and tell.  Had a "newbie", welcome Fran!  We had a scheduled QOV presentation...ended up being two!  Mr. Miller's son came along to see his Dad get his quilt but when we found out he, too, was a Veteran (Vietnam), we just had to give him his!  Thank you gentlemen for your service!

Here is our show and tell:

and a sneak peak at what we are going to work on in September and October.  Great job, Joyce and Pam!

STOP~

To the ones who are so generously making copies of our handout....stop.  The title of the 2nd page has been changed to:  Standards of Excellence for a Quilt of Valor.  So if you're up to it, I'll have an original with me.  Thank you so much for doing this.  With the 3 quilt shows coming up, I'm having to have these run off.

Sew In report for August

Just love to report about our sew-ins! I remember when I used to count how many were there---don't even have time to do that! We had people working on new projects, some finishing old,  many hands on getting about 15 tops to size by adding borders, then we got some matched up with backings. Oh, gotta mention our newbies...had a couple from Chicago!! Thank you everyone for all that you do to get it done! Note: I think we only left maybe one for binding at the shop!  I am still unpacking...fabric donations...oh, and the phone books!  Thank you.  We can use old phone books for our string quilts!

Wallace H, a WWII Veteran was there to accept his QOV. Just loved his stories! Thank you sir for your service!

AND who do I thank for the really neat cards someone dropped off! We'll have to have someone with nice handwriting to fill these out!  ok, here's our show and tell!

Sew In Reminder Notice!!! Tomorrow

Yes, we meet tomorrow at Prairie Shop Quilts, Batavia.  Sorry for the late notice, but I've been cutting and cutting up kits for upcoming sew ins all week and weekend!  Tomorrow we have two scheduled presentations.  Approach me if you have never presented...I love for each of you to experience this.  So, note:   we have company when you are planning your dish to pass.

Bring along any unfinished project you might have.  We have over 15 tops needing borders and backings.  So, bring your sewing machines, ruler, rotary cutter!

Have another box (actually two boxes) of scraps that need to be tidied up!  We've talked about a day for cutting.,maybe we'll work on a date for that.

So, fill those bobbins and see you tomorrow!
