We are a busy bunch of quilters that strive to provide quilts as our small and humble way of saying "thanks" to our returning troops. Rita Pennington (garipenn@att.net) is our "Drill Sergeant" and she keeps the (quilting) troops moving and motivated. We have 6 monthly sew-ins North of I88: St. Charles, Elgin, Rolling Meadows, Crest Hill, Geneva and Montgomery. See side bar for more info. Join us on Facebook: Illinois Quilts of Valor
Thank you!

Thank a Veteran each and every day

September Sew In Notes

Sew ins
Not able to spend much time at the computer, so going to set this up now.
Today, is the month sew-in at Aunt Sassys, Geneva, from 11-4 PM. Bette and Fran would love to have you join then.
Next Tuesday, that's right, day after Labor Day, September 6, we gather again at the Moose in St. Charles. Now, if you're wanting to cut, please bring your rotary cutter, maybe a small cutting mat and tools. You want to help bundle or press, thank you. You know we cut our scraps into usable strips. I've got 3 1/2, 4 1/2 and 5 1/2" strips. You needing a kit, let me know. Find your own pattern or let me know which one of ours you want to do.
This is what we have coming up: That's 97 requests (not including requests from Foundation) to end of year.

I've attached a photo...and he gave me permission for you to put it on your blog Rita. His daughter and son-in-law where there for the presentation. Thank you, Sir, for your service.
