Hi quilting ladies! Just a reminder our Elgin Land of Lincoln Quilts of Valor meets this coming Tuesday, November 11th. What a great way to celebrate Veterans Day - making quilts to honor our military. Time is 10 to 2 but come when you can. Place is Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, located off Highland Ave., 3 blocks west of Randall Road. Bring a sack lunch. In addition to getting quilt bundles ready for long arming we will be working and learning together paper foundation piecing. It is one form of paper piecing. Patty has phonebook pages cut to size and Shirley has quilts paired with backings.Invite a friend...Patty & Shirley
We are a busy bunch of quilters that strive to provide quilts as our small and humble way of saying "thanks" to our returning troops. Rita Pennington (garipenn@att.net) is our "Drill Sergeant" and she keeps the (quilting) troops moving and motivated. We have 6 monthly sew-ins North of I88: St. Charles, Elgin, Rolling Meadows, Crest Hill, Geneva and Montgomery. See side bar for more info. Join us on Facebook: Illinois Quilts of Valor
Thank you!
