Today the Land of Lincoln Quilts of Valor Group just had a fantastically succesful sew-in where we had 13 sewers/cutters/pressers and enough food to feed the same army we are trying to cover with quilts! One of the gals took pics, and I hope to have them soon so I can show you how much fun we have!
This will be the spot to check with new activities. More to come!

ok, I'm figuring this (blogging) out slowly but surely. "Drill Sergeant", huh! I need to comment on yesterday's outcome...WOW We had the max of 13---we ran out of chairs!! Awesome. I came in with 5 quilts that went to quilters and I came home with 4 more tops that as soon as I get backings will go to quilters. We might meet the requested amount of 100 quilts for the end of June by ourselves at this rate! You can see a lot of patriotic pride amongst us!!
My husband asked me last night, so how does this work? Everyone bring their own machines? I said yep and you hear someone say "does anyone have such and such a ruler or scissors or???" and there it is! Great fun, food and most of all people!! Can't say enough about all the great people I've met since this all started.
Welcome to our newbies and thank you for your help. What a great cause, huh!
It has been my pleasure to quilt 9 of your quilts and return them to you quilted and with the binding attached. I hope later in the year that I can do more for you. I have my own personal project of taking quilts to the Wounded Warrior and Family Support Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. My daughter is a nurse in the USAF and has done two tours in Iraq at the hospital in Balad. Thank God she is home safely.
