We are a busy bunch of quilters that strive to provide quilts as our small and humble way of saying "thanks" to our returning troops. Rita Pennington (garipenn@att.net) is our "Drill Sergeant" and she keeps the (quilting) troops moving and motivated. We have 6 monthly sew-ins North of I88: St. Charles, Elgin, Rolling Meadows, Crest Hill, Geneva and Montgomery. See side bar for more info. Join us on Facebook: Illinois Quilts of Valor
Thank you!

December Sew In notes
We had an end to a 8+ era at Prairie Star Quilt Shop today. The store is closing so we are moving on. A HUGE thank you to Bonita and the ladies at the shop. So many things to list what they did for us: monthly sew-ins, drop off for quilt tops and quilted tops, got us binders, they even trimmed some our tops ! A memory came to me ...I remember the time we needed 95 quilts for Hampshire, IL. We were short. As I recall, Bonita took one off the wall! I could go on and on.
We bridged off to 4 more locations! So, in our "pow wow" this morning, we discussed options. We will be meeting same day, same time at our St. Charles location. It's the Moose Lodge on Rt 38, across from Meyer. AND we all are staying together!! I love that part. So, beginning January 5 we will continue our mission to cover our veterans by making the quilts! Thank you ladies... I hope you'll consider joining us on our Facebook Page (Illinois Quilts of Valor).
And what a way to end with a presentation to Mr. Louis W, WWII Veteran. What a pleasure to speak with him and his wife! Thank you for your service, Sir.
And now the eye candy!
