A word of caution.... and sew-in Reminder Notice..Tuesday, July 1st

ok, time has come. Just a reminder regarding our fabric and QOV tops. Our quilts are sometimes given to some Veterans who are in hospitals and or have serious injuries. Please be aware of pet dander AND if you smoke, please keep fabric away from those exposures. Our volunteer quilters also have this request. We are doing a great service to our Veterans, I am sure you don't want to expose them to yet another issue that would cause any discomfort. Thank you.

Let this be our reminder for our next sew in on Tuesday, July 1st.   Let's do another "picnic" in honor of the 4th of July.  I'll bring the hot dogs...someone can bring the buns and relish as we will be grilling  those the morning of and getting back into town the night before.   We have a presentation and the family has been invited to our potluck.

Marilyn is bringing another string idea.   SO, fill them bobbins!
See you on Tuesday!
Rita
PS...want to add:   back from guild meeting yeserday. What a surprise!!! QOV received 15 tops just from one bee!!! That has never happened before. Then had people coming up looking for tops to quilt! Ohh, gotta add...came home with at least another 10 tops all finished (well, almost...just have to add labels to some). Yup, surrounded by some very awesome people!!! Thank you, Thank you!!!

Yorkville Sewing Notes

Nice crowd at the sew in yesterday...AND we have been moved to the pretty good size room next door.  Came home with 8 tops...that's always good!  Had picture taking issues, so the only one I have available is the top Donna N brought in.  Donna, you need to read the nice comments you got on Facebook!!
There more pictures on my iPad...but the cord is broken so can't charge that until I pick up a new cord.   Note to self...make sure camera is always charged!

Sew In Reminder

Sewing Etc., Yorkville is the place, 10 AM is the time!

As you read (or not) we have two new QOV sew-ins starting up next month...AND as of this morning, maybe yet another further North!!  So, a lot of behind the scenes going on and I will forward as soon as I know and what I know.  Bring in what you have from previous months and we'll have kits for blocks and strings.

Would like to have your thoughts on patterns.  We're ready to bring back any patterns from the past that you enjoyed doing...OR if you have a pattern you think would work with the group, do tell.  I've got the fabric here, you could come and pick out what would work with the pattern and cut it up and let's do it!!

Batavia Quilt show is coming  July 18-20th (http://www.bataviaquiltshow.com/).  Would love to have your help at the show.  Let me know your availability.
See ya Tuesday, Rita

Notes from today's Sew In!

I just can't say enough about our sew-ins. One just out does the other. Have to tell you, Gary usually empties my car. His comment was...wow, got to be the first time you came home with less than you took! All those scraps...AND, Kathy Janik follows me home to get more!! Dedication plus!! Not to mention the ladies who stayed after to work on the quilt from last month.

AND, we had a guest.  Boyd Cook, a QOV recipient at the Schaumburg Show came with his computer and showed us some ideas for embroidery.  Yeah, we can keep him busy!!  More to come with Boyd...he has some great ideas for Northern Illinois Quilters!!

So, here is some show and tell from today.
