Yorkville Sew-In!!!

Well, I say we about filled the room!  My memory doesn't tell me how many were there..but we had 4 newbies!!  We cut and we sewed.  Here are some pictures of quilts and quilt tops that came in today.

We made our plans for the 2nd Annual QOV Sewing Day, February 7th. If you're able to come to any of our locations, love to have you.  Can't stay for the whole day...come in the morning or afternoon for a few hours! The pattern we are using at this location can be found at:  http://www.jellyrollfabric.net/Patterns_ep_41-1.html  called Bento Box

Thank you John for your sacrifice, bravery and service!

Deb S presented the QOV to John B in Waukegan Saturday, Jan 17, at his home with some of his family present.  His wife had arranged it so he didn't know about it, but some of the family did.  He suffers from Traumatic Brain injury due to an IED explosion--medically retired from the Marines.

Clarifying...QOV Membership, February 7 Sewing Day,

Clarification time,,,, I will stop using the word "register"   IF you want to sign up for membership to QOVFoundation, and you want group...Land of Lincoln QOV, that is, I have to sign you up.  It is set up for State Coordinators to do this.  It is $5 and you can get that to me.  Otherwise you pay the $20 for individual membership.  NOTE, if you have any questions, pls Private Message or email me.

Now the February 7 sew in..that is different and know QOV membership is NOT necessary for you to join us on that day.  Locally, we would like you to let us know which of our 6 locations you plan on attending so we have enough kits/fabric with us.  To do that,  on Our Illinois Quilts of Valor Facebook page, go up to Events, and post.  People who are not on Facebook, just either leave a comment here, or email me.  Our location leaders can pull the names for our locations.  Also, if you would like to get in on the all-day drawings for prizes, sign up at the QOVF,org website.  Again, any questions, call, email, or PM me. Last year they had a longarm that they "prized" someone!

Many thanks to the gentleman who served as the photographer & that being said, here are the pics.

Good size group.  As always, very productive!  Hey, when i go with a full car and come home with not so full of a car...THAT is good!!!  We had Kathy from Alaska visiting us.  Good story on how she met Jane in Alaska.  Ya just get attracted to the Red  White and Blue!!   Deb L, nice seeing you as well.  Sorry about the "zoned out" greeting you got.  I just can't believe how fast our sew-ins go and all that gets done.  You know I have a month of, "oh, I gotta remember this/that".  Thank you for understanding
