Beginning September 20, the VFW, 121 N River St., Montgomery, will be
hosting monthly QOV Sew-ins from 10-3 PM. We will begin with bimonthly
sew-ins on the 3rd TUESDAYS of the month until further notice. WANTED:
iron(s), ironing board(s), cutting mat(s) and of course, men and women
wanting to join us in creating quilts for our veterans. One does not
need to know how to sew. We have various "opportunities" for
you...pressing, cutting, we'll have room for bundling, measuring and
making backings, to name a few. So, bring your sewing machine and tools and sack lunch. Thank you, Montgomery VFW!
Rita
We are a busy bunch of quilters that strive to provide quilts as our small and humble way of saying "thanks" to our returning troops. Rita Pennington (garipenn@att.net) is our "Drill Sergeant" and she keeps the (quilting) troops moving and motivated. We have 6 monthly sew-ins North of I88: St. Charles, Elgin, Rolling Meadows, Crest Hill, Geneva and Montgomery. See side bar for more info. Join us on Facebook: Illinois Quilts of Valor
Thank you!

Sew in at the Moose
Another busy day for us in St. Charles. I quit counting the number of
tops that got measured, and backings sewn and adhered, number of tops
that went out for binding, and 12 completed quilts that came in! Not to
mention the great potluck we had. And thank you Marilyn for "mentoring"
some new QOV's?? Thank you also to those who volunteered to work the
quilt show in a couple weeks. So, now here is our sew-n-share!
I like what you have done with the panels. Note: I have more panels!
