At the sew in today, we had the honor to award two veterans: Gerald M,
Navy; and Anthony D, USMCR. Thank you gentlemen for your service and
your stories!
Until I can figure out how to load pictures from my iPad ..will not let me sign in, I'll load pictures. You will find them on our Facebook page though...Illinois Quilts of Valor.
As I mentioned yesterday, we have committed to a group of 52 for May. Yesterday we bundled quite a few tops, so quilters, if you have some time, let me know! It's got me back to my machine quilting. Also, we will have a booth at the International Quilt Show at the Rosemont in April. Dates are April 12-14 at the Donald Stephens Convention Center, 5555 S River Rd., Rosemont, IL If you can work the booth, let me know so I can put your name for a badge to get into the show.

We are a busy bunch of quilters that strive to provide quilts as our small and humble way of saying "thanks" to our returning troops. Rita Pennington (garipenn@att.net) is our "Drill Sergeant" and she keeps the (quilting) troops moving and motivated. We have 6 monthly sew-ins North of I88: St. Charles, Elgin, Rolling Meadows, Crest Hill, Geneva and Montgomery. See side bar for more info. Join us on Facebook: Illinois Quilts of Valor
Thank you!

update on sew-in
I know we have a scheduled sew in tomorrow. I am watching the weather.
I can post early in the morning if you wish. Of course if you're not
comfortable..you be the judge. I know we're expecting a couple
veterans..and they were excited about it, but safety first. So stay
tuned.
Rita
Update: I will be at the sew-in today. Streets were ok. We didn't get as much snow as they predicted. Drive carefully...always. OH...****bring your own lunch*** They will not have lunch as in the past.
